Whiteheads on nose

Suffering from facial acne? Do you have blackheads and whiteheads on nose, cheeks or chin and you don’t know how to get rid of them? Acne is a relatively common problem not only for teen agers but for many adults as well. The main reason for facial blemishes or acne is caused by a number of factors including stress, diet and improper cleaning of the face.

When the body is stressed it can create more of the hormones that cause sweating and oil production. Excessive oil on the face will cause pores to get blocked therefore leading to whiteheads, blackheads and other types of acne.

A healthy diet is also important for the skin. Eating fruits and vegetables as well as keeping the body hydrated is vital to your skins health and appearance. Eating greasy, fat filled foods that contain a lot of preservatives will only aggravate your skins natural balance and will cause more whiteheads.

Most people wash their faces as part of their nightly routine, but how well you wash your face is what matters when trying to avoid getting skin blemishes like whiteheads, blackheads and pimples. Using the proper cleaner for your skin type as well as being sure to thoroughly rinse your face after washing will help to ensure you keep your skin clean and fresh. Also, it is advisable to use a gentle astringent to dry up your pores after washing your face; it tightens the skin and closes pores that if otherwise remained open would allow dirt and bacteria in, which create the whiteheads.

When attempting to remove blackheads or whiteheads on your nose, the most common mistake that people make is to try and pop or squeeze the underlying pus out. Not only is this bad for your skin and can create more problems, but many times it is only a short term fix. The correct way to remove or reduce the amount of black and whiteheads on your face is by following a daily washing routine and exfoliation.

Whiteheads can be particularly difficult to get rid of (short of squeezing them out) as they tend to have a harder outer layer than most pimples. While they are difficult, it is not impossible to rid whiteheads on noses or facial areas. The first thing to do is to fill a sink or basin with hot water, put your face over the sink or bowl and cover your head with a towel, therefore creating a steam tent. Let your face steam for 3-5 minutes.   (You can also use your morning shower as a steaming option or just putting a hot washcloth on your face can yield the same results). After about 5 minutes of steaming, thoroughly wash your face with an exfoliating cleanser and completely rinse off. Use a blackhead removal tool (you can use a blackhead remover, as it works well for whiteheads also) to extract the pus from the whitehead. The area around the whitehead will probably turn pink or red, but this is a good sign. If you do not see the whitehead than the pus has been removed and should be unnoticeable within a day or so.

After removing the whitehead, gently wash your face again being sure to thoroughly rinse it off as to not leave any residue. Apply a gentle astringent to reduce the possibility of another breakout. Following a daily face washing routine will help to keep whiteheads, blackheads and other types of acne from invading your skin.
