GS078006The oily skin could be a huge problem for most of the women. The oily skin can be recognized by its shiny, thick and firm appearance.

Most of the women having oily skin know how hard it could be to take a proper care of oily skin. The biggest cosmetic companies have always been trying to discover a “cure” for combination and oily skin but up to now they haven’t managed to do it. It is true that there are a few great skin care products /matifying creams, serums, gels etc. / but it seem that they just make oily skin appear less oily and don’t cure it.

Below you can read about some of the most precious ingredients which are proven to really help those people with skin problems, such as acne, large pores, pimples, skin discolorations and others. So the next time you are shopping – try to find at least one of them and include it in your skin care regimen.

Thermal water – the thermal water contains magnesium, calcium, iron, zinc, selenium, sodium bicarbonate and other special ingredients and has tremendous benefit in treating the skin. It is proven that thermal water has anti-inflammatory properties which could be very beneficial for those women with sensitive and dry skin. Using a thermal spray is absolutely a must have during the hot summer months as even the oiliest skin needs hydratation. Using a spray with thermal water is very easy – simply spray it on your skin and after a minute wipe skin dry.

Tea tree oil – no wonder that the tea tree oil has been used for years in traditional medicine – it is one of the best natural skin care ‘products’. It not only fights bacteria but it actually heals the skin. Tea tree oil is a common ingredient in most of the skin care products as it nourishes and moisturizes the skin and is proven to help prevent and treat acne. Tea tree oil is especially beneficial for oily skin as it helps control shine and blemishes and has antibacterial properties. Serious skin problems such as warts, insect bites, rashes, blisters and even cold sores can benefit with tea tree oil use.

Grape seed oil – the grape seed oil has strong hydratating effect and is used primary as massage oil and a main ingredient in anti-aging creams and serums. The grape seed oil not only moisturizes the skin, but it also tightens and tones the skin. The oil is often a main ingredient in matifying products and anti-aging creams as it restores elasticity of the skin and nourishes it deeply. Due to its high linolic acid content it nourishes and moisturizes the skin deeply.

Zinc Oxide – a natural mineral that is used to protect, soothe and heal the skin. Zinc oxide is one of the most common ingredients in products treating oily and combination skin due to its unbelievable properties. It is proven that the zinc oxide has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. Zinc is known to support increased collages “turnover” and promote cell division. It could be very beneficial for those with oily skin as it controls the excess sebum /oil/ production and eliminates shine. Zinc oxide is used not only in the skincare products but also in the makeup products especially foundations and face powders.

Great recommendations for oily skin, thanks! I love all the Juice Beauty products but I really love Juice Beauty’s Oil Free Moisturizer. It’s rich in essential fatty acids and very luxurious but doesn’t make me break out at all. Rich pomegranate moisture and it’s organic…no parabens or petro or dyes or any of that bad stuff. I bought mine at Sephora but also saw it at Whole Foods. Love Juice Beauty!

The biggest mistake that people with oily skin can make is not using a moisturizer. I see clients all the time who use nothing because they think that added moisture will make their skin oilier. Actually using the right products will regulate your sebaceous glands and get them under control so they will excrete less oil rather than more. I personally have SUPER dry skin so I am on the opposite end of the spectrum but I deal with oily skin all the time. I recommed the products by Chi Herbal Formulas. They are made of chinese herbs designed to work with specific skin types. They have a great website that helps to explain there products in more detail.

A cheap toner I reccomend for my oily skin/problem skin clients is by organic apple cider vinegar and dilute it with 50% water and apply with cotton. It is a great natural toner. You could even add some essential oils to help out the stinky smell. Stinky but great.

The Made from Earth Rosehip & Hibiscus Face Serum is perfect for my skin. My chin, forehead and especially my nose tend to be oily, but the rest of my face can be really dry. Anything I use to prevent or reduce acne generally dries out my face. I haven’t been able to find this moisturizer at my regular stores lately, so I used another brand’s moisturizer (Dove, I believe), and my face started breaking out by the next day. I’ve read other reviews where people said this moisturizer makes their skin softer than it’s ever been. I guess it just really depends on your skin type. They should sell cheaper samples, so people can try out these kind of products. Oh well. I’m just glad to find it on their website – if your looking for it its: http://www.madefromearth.com.
