Six Common MakeUp Myths
Makeup Myth 1. You can do harm to your skin if you wear makeup every day
On the contrary. The makeup protects the skin from the harmful sun’s rays, from the wind and the dust. Most of the makeup products contain many moisturizing and nourishing ingredients that that nourish and moisturize the skin during the day. nowadays most of the foundations, face powders and even lip glosses offer sun protection – SPF 15 or higher to protect the skin from the sun’s rays and to prevent skin discolorations or sunburns.
Makeup Myth 2. Black eyeliner can make your eyes appear bigger
It isn’t true. The dark shades can make eyes appear smaller, rather than bigger. If you want to make your eyes appear bigger you should use lighter colors (brown, gray, violet). Before you apply mascara on your lashes, line the inner rims of your eyes with a white pencil to open up your eyes and to create the illusion of bigger eyes.
Makeup Myth 3. If you don’t wear makeup you can cleanse your face only with water
During the day or during the evening, while you are sleeping your skin produce many oils and many of the dead skin cells peel. When you are out, your skin attracts dust which if not removed in time may lead to different breakouts and blemishes – pimples, large pores, blackheads, whiteheads etc. cleansing your face at least twice a day with mild cleansers and facial toners that are appropriate for your skin type is essential for every skin type and age.
Makeup Myth 4. If you use waterproof mascara your lashes will become brittle
It isn’t true. On the contrary. Most of the waterproof mascaras contain more proteins and vitamins than the water soluble mascaras. They contain silicone oils which create a protective coat on the lashes and nourish them. Yes, it’s true that waterproof mascara may be very difficult to remove in the evening but you won’t have any problems if you use good makeup remover.
Makeup Myth 5. The eyelash curlers can easily damage your lashes
It isn’t true, as long as you know how to use it properly. Curling your eyelashes using an eyelash curler makes your eyes look wider, brighter and longer and doesn’t make your lashes look fake. You should use eyelash curler before you apply mascara. The lash curler must be positioned very gently on the tip lashes and the movement may be repeated until you achieve the desired look. Carefully squeeze the edges of the eyelash curler together and hold for a few seconds and gently release the curler from the lashes.
Makeup Myth 6. Cream blush is better than a powder blush
It depends mainly on your skin type. The powder blush is appropriate for those women with oily skin and must be applied with the aid of a big, round brush. A cream blush works great for those with normal or dry skin and must be applied with a makeup sponge or with your fingertips.
Just wanted to point out that there’s a slight contradiction with saying wearing too much makeup is not harmful for your skin
Overuse of makeup products can seriously harm your skin because most of the products contain harsh chemicals that may irritate your skin and cause allergic reactions.
To second the previous user, you also said that applying blush with your fingertips is okay. This is generally untrue as your fingertips are one of the dirtiest parts on your body and constantly using them to apply makeup can clog your pores and cause irritation, as well as making the blush or makeup container dirty and foul-smelling.
ew what is on your fingers!?!?! ^^
