Hi, thanks for this article. It's super helpful. I've recently been starting to use cream foundation (laura mercier silk creme, in particular- i used to just use pressed powder), and most of the time i end up frustrated after using it coz the foundation settle on my pores! especially on my nose! Here's how i apply my make up, i apply toner after cleansing my face, then moisturize. then i apply murad oil control mattifier on my T-zone since I have oily to combination skin. After the mattifier, i use benefit's Porefessional or Smashbox's Photofinish targeted pore & line primer also only on my T-zone to somehow conceal my pores. Then i apply my foundation sometimes with a foundation brush or a stippling brush (a mac188) or even just my fingers and then finish off with a translucent powder....so basically, i've already been doing the 8 steps above!! but how come i still end up with enlarged pores? my pores are not humongous, but why do they appear bigger after the foundation esp on my nose and lower cheek area and look rather cakey? please help me! btw, do you apply the foundation primer after the moisturizer, oil control mattifier and pore minimizer? would very much appreciate your help! thanks a lot!

I model for serenas image and my manager tells us all to change our pillow case every morning. This helps oily skin, as well as acne. After a night your pillow has lots of bacteria and oils from your skin on it, so when you go to bed the next night after washing your face the bacteria and oils are straight back onto your skin. Cleanse, tone, moisturize and change that pillow case every day guys!

Hi everyone!

I am reading everyone's comments and wondering if anyone uses a good skincare system for starters as it is vitally important to start with good skincare!!
Covering will only lead to even larger pores! I have found the BEST skincare system that is all natural, not tested on animals, has no mineral oils (that's what clogs your pores along with animal fats which is found in majority of cosmetics and cheap skincare as it is a filler!) I use a natural microdermabrasion that uses thermal fusion technology (not nearly as harsh! ), I have had enlarged pores for years and had been to the doctor and specialist, tried every product under the sun and then found this skincare system! They also have the best make up that makes my skin flawless! I have now got tiny pores and flawless skin! Anyone interested in finding out more on these products....
Please email me: kit1@iprimus.com.au or
visit my website: www.naturalacneantiagingskincare.myarbonne.com.au
I have had so many great results with this company I have now become a consultant... if you are willing to give it a go I will tell you how to save $$$ on these products!

I found a great product for hiding pores - it's called Mattify! Loose Powder. My skin is sooo oily, and my pores are very visible. So, I apply this powder as a primer underneath foundation & then again over my foundation. It looks like my face is airbrushed - does a great job of hiding pores and stopping oiliness for about 4 hours. When you re-apply over your makeup, you get that same perfected look. It costs around 8 bucks at www.mattifycosmetics.com . Another important thing is to exfoliate daily. This removes excess oil and dirt from pores (which can stretch them and make them appear larger).

Check out new product solution to hiding large pores on the skin surface. Perhaps you can offer this link to your customers with problematic large pores.
