How To Create The Perfect Cat Eye Look?

The sharp cat eye look made the runaway this Fall. Cat eyes are sexy and seductive and suits almost everyone. Creating the perfect cat eye look is all about using and properly applying eyeliner or eye pencil to create a hard line around the eye.

How to apply your makeup to create cat eye look:

Step One. Apply an eyeshadow base

The best way to make your eye shadows stay put on for longer is applying an eyeshadow base. Eyeshadow bases are nude eye base that glides on over the eyelid and create a perfect base for the eye shadow application. The bases stop your shadows from smudging, streaking and creasing by increasing the lasting-power of your shadows. A good eyeshadow base will not only prevent your shadows from creasing but it will also aid in blending the eyeshadows to perfection.They intensify your shadow and make it stay put on for longer. To apply an eyeshadow base dab on lightly and blend evenly over the entire lid using a brush or your fingertips. The application of eyeshdow is as usual.

Step Two. Use eye liner

You can create the cat eye look simply by using liquid eyeliner or eye pencil to line your lash line. The professional makeup artists usually use liquid eyeliner as it creates a thicker line but most of the women find applying liquid eyeliner very difficult that’s why you can use eye pencil which is much easier to apply. Remember: if you want to create a cat eye look you should use black or brown colors as they look best. So the first thing you should decide is whether to use liquid eyeliner, gel eye liner or eye pencil.

Line your eyes
Tip your head back and look down into a mirror. Use sharp eyeliner and start with the inner corners of your eyes. Dot along the root of your lashes moving from the inner corners of the eyes outwards. Make sure you follow the natural curve of the eye. This time the line should be thicker and “harder“ – gradually make the line thicker in order to create the cat eye look. Use a flat eyeshadow brush and smudge the line slightly to soften the effect. It’s essential to line your upper lid, carefully extending the liner up a bit past the eye (quarter of an inch should be enough). Remember: you should make the line as close to the lashes as possible. Line your lower lash line with a black or brown eye liner creating a very small line.

Step Three. * Apply eyeshadows
It’s your decision whether to apply eyeshadows or not. The traditional cat eye look doesn’t involve any eyeshadows at all but today the smoky cat eye look is very popular amongst the younger women as it looks very sexy, seductive and classy. If you are going to use powder eye shadows apply them with the help of a damp makeup brush. Apply colored eye shadows along the socket and outer corner of the lid in order to create definition and contour. Look for darker shades as it will add more definition to your eyes. Use two or three eyeshadow colors and apply them very carefully. Blend the colors very carefully using a soft, tapered eyeshadow brush. Again go a bit wider when going to the outward part of the eye.




Step Four. Curl your eyelashes
Use eyelash curler to curl your lashes in order to open up your eyes and to define them. Position your eyelash curler around your eyelashes and carefully squeeze the edges of the eyelash curler together and hold for a few seconds. Gently release the curler from the lashes and repeat again if necessarily.

Step Five. Apply mascara
Now is the time to apply mascara – black or brown looks great for cat eyes. To avoid smearing mascara use a waterproof mascara as it doesn’t dissolve in water. Apply a powder to the lashes – this will give your lashes volume and will allow the mascara to stay longer. Look down into a mirror and stroke lashes upwards with just the tip of the brush. Make sure that the wand isn’t overloaded with mascara, if it is – take some off with a tissue before applying. Let the first coat dry and then apply the second coat if necessarily.

Step Six. Consider applying false lashes
